TV Room Garage Conversion

For this project the owner wanted to convert his garage into a TV Room.

There was no internal door to access the garage, the access to garage was from the uplift garage metal garage door.

He wanted an internal access to his new TV room and wanted a warm and cosy room.

Firstly I assessed the site and did site surveying to know the structural and non structural walls and where we can do the cavity to fit the door for internal access.

I made existing plans and elevations as well as the proposed plans and elevation and did a meeting with the client and the builders. As part of this project I also made an application for planning permission on behalf of my client.

Once the planning permission was approved I did a final meeting with my client and gave the project to the builders with the working drawings and list of jobs required to be done on-site.

My client wanted a full floor to sill window where the garage door was to give the room maximum light for the flooring he wanted solid wood. After researching I chose tongue and grove solid oak treated, lacquered and oiled. I also advised my client bamboo flooring but he wanted light wood colour to match the flooring of rest of his house.

There was a boiler in the garage too. I boxed it with cabinet which have storage below.

My client also wanted a stained glass painting and he commissioned me to do it for him. Please see below the stained glass painting I made:
